6Scrooge Revealed
I took a risk and disclosed conflict I’m having with one of our pastors. While discussing upcoming music selections, he said that Christmas music wasn’t a good idea in church because it is “corny”. Gateway voted today with either with me “yes” to have Christmas music next Sunday or with the scrooge “no”. Everyone also submited their favorite Christmas song for us to sing.

Baby Dedication
I was sweating before service because little Harris wanted nothing to do with me. When I ganked a bottle of bubbles from the KAMO table, we were buddies. I loved praying with this family and the Van Cleve’s last week as they have comitted to be Godly parents.

prayerPraying during Kidzrock
James and Beverly Rios were our guest ministers in Kidzrock this morning and did a fine job. I dropped by to see groups of kids praying for each other. I am very optimistic with the direction we are headed in kids ministry.

The Strings
Chris Campbell and the team were amazing. I am so thankful for the beautiful talent people in our church family are glorifying God with. John and Maggie are not only some of our newest Kidzrock coaches, but have officially joined our worship team too!

Fighting Consumerism
After Drew’s confession of a weird fascination with Ghostbuster’s, he said some pretty amazing and uncomfortable things to hear:
-Your life doesn’t get meaning from stuff, your life get’s meaning from Jesus.
-It’s possible to have all the right looking stuff, but not actually have a right life.
-If you missed, please listen to the podcast and read Matthew 5-7 and 1 Tim 6 this week. It may ruin your week.

scotthanginglightsHanging Christmas Lights
I gave up watching the Cowboys this afternoon to hang Christmas lights at the entrance of our neighborhood. Scott Mather is my neighbor and becoming one of the closest friends I have. I can’t wait to see what God is going to do in his family’s life in 2009.

What was your favorite moment of the day? If you missed today, your vote still counts. What is your favorite Christmas song?
