Standing in line for the midnight showing of the Dark Night increased my expectations and it became an interesting night. These movies are always a good metaphor for good verses evil much like Star Wars or Lord of the Rings. It was different with this one. You could sense that the “good guy” was the joker. People in the theater were actually pulling for the essence of evil to prevail. It made my heart sad as I imagined a shift in our culture. The influence of media on this generation is big and I began to wonder if this was one of those examples. Maybe I’m reading too much into it, but it is how I felt. Granted Heath has recently passed, but it was strange. The most erie part of the movie was when Heath’s character said, “What doesn’t kill you only makes you stranger.”
